Abscessed Tooth
Abscessed tooth is a form of decayed tooth. The tooth has pus formation in its tissues. Pus is a form of infection which happens when the body is fighting against bacterial infection. If pus is not removed then it can lead to abscess formation.
What causes abscessed tooth?
When the tooth gets damaged or if the cavity is left untreated or any form of gum condition can lead to an abscessed tooth. One of the basic primary checks is treating the gum or teeth condition on time. Cavity formed can further lead to infection inside the mouth. This bacterium can further spread and the tissues further gets decayed leading to pus formation. Thus abscesses get formed, along with pocket formation. Adding to the woes if some of the food articles gets stuck inside this cavity, enhancing the bacterial growth finally leading to dissolving the bone and the tooth in that part.
Remedy for abscessed tooth
In case of any gum or tooth condition it is always recommend visiting a dentist. The dentist first treats with antibiotics in order to curb the bacterial action. In order to further drain the pus a hole over the top or at the back is done, by doing so the infection is drained. This is important as it also alleviates the pain and eases the condition to a certain extent.
The basic treatment is root canal treatment for this condition. The decayed tooth is sometimes removed with another artificial tooth, while the others can be corrected with treatment and subsequent filling in the abscess.
Prevention from abscessed tooth
One can easily prevent from this condition by cleaning the teeth twice daily and flossing it regularly. Take care that you rinse the mouth after meals. A visit to a dentist regularly is a must. A lateral abscess gets developed laterally. Lateral abscess are due to periodontitis.
Pain and discomfort in such condition is quite natural. If left untreated it might be life-threatening too.
