Taking 8 to 10 glasses of water in a day helps to remove waste and toxins from our body. You can take fresh lime water without sugar and salt, black tea and sugar free juices like Amla juice.

Take Fiber. Intake of fiber increases the body metabolism and gives volume to the food so that we feel full even by consuming fewer calories and leads to weight loss. Fiber slows the absorption of cholesterol. Brown rice, whole grain breads beans, peanuts, soybeans should be taken.

Control Fat intake. Excess fat leads to weight gain which in turn leads to increase in hormone secretions and speed aging. Even a single meal rich in fat can lead to plaque formation in blood vessels. Choose to eat low fat dairy products, stop eating red meat, as it is rich in saturated fats, and add fish to your diet as it is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. Start using Olive oil and Canola oil for cooking as it reduces heart risks. Omega-3 fatty acids keep away depression, and age related macular degeneration thus protect our vision. Nuts keep our brain sharp.

Cut sugar intake. High sugar levels deactivate anti-oxidant enzymes which causes damage due to sun. Avoid soft drinks and juices as these high Glesmic acid foods push sugar levels. Cut salt intake. High Sodium level in our food affects bones leading to osteoporosis. High salt intake can lead to gastric Cancer, affects lung function and causes high blood pressure. Avoid preserved foods and make a habit to eat fresh foods. Season your food with Herbs instead of salt.

Take Vitamin and Mineral supplements. Consume vitamins and minerals from fresh fruits and vegetables. Take small portions of these 4-5 times during the day. As full requirement of these can not be met from food supplements should be taken. Vitamin C is needed for healthy skin. At different times Iron and Calcium supplements are needed. Eat colorful natural food. Eat dark colored fruits and vegetables, like Spinach, Carrots, Beans, Broccoli and Cherries. Walnuts, Oats, green tea, Thyme, Rosemary, Bananas, fight aging. Taking green tea with citrus juices like Lemon juice is more effective. Turmeric is a great antioxidant.
