Application of Mascara

After the face is ready with base makeup, blusher and eye shadow, now it’s the turn to play with the eyes and mascara plays an important role in adding the dramatic effect to the overall look of the eyes.

How to apply mascara?

The first and the foremost step in the application of mascara are by curling the upper eyelashes. This is achieved with an eye lash curler. Care should be taken that the entire eyelash should come under the curler, see the curler is curled near the base of the eyelash. The mascara should be applied with sweeping effect, from bottom to the top. Keep the eyes semi-closed; with full strokes apply from root to the tips.

The comb part of the brush is used to segregate the eyelashes. But care should be taken that you do this before they get completely dried away. Repeat for the other lash too. The bottom of the lash is coated with mascara by keeping the brush parallel to the nose. The strokes should be small but firm.

To get extra length of the eyelashes again repeat the steps. You can apply this two-three times so as to get the desired effect. Another way of getting the look is by false eyelashes. They can be readily applied and they add drama to the entire character of the eyes. But again care should be taken that the false lashes are applied close to the eye, only then they will appear natural. This will also give the thickness to the thin lashes.
