Are Girls Growing Up Too Fast?

The girls today want to grow up sooner. They dress like a typical teenager, talk and act like them. The innocence of childhood has got lost somewhere. Young girls in the age group of nine to twelve like to socialize by- gossiping, talking about boys or discussing the latest trends in makeup or fashion.

They want to watch late night shows or adult movies and discuss them with their friends because if they do not participate they feel out of place and ignorant. They like to sleep over at their friends and stay up till dawn.

This hideous lifestyle is not only due to peer pressure but a lot of other things which have aggravated the situation. For example, the media and TV shows have influenced kids a lot and is pushing these young kids to join the world of adults sooner. The television shows and advertisements make these girls dress ahead of their age. They want to wear dangerously short skirts, tank tops or clothes shown in high fashion, expensive and glamorous stores.

Too much exposure has also made these girls date at a very young age. Earlier the girls use to start dating at 13 or 14 but now it is as young as nine or ten. It has also been observed that boys at this age are more interested in sports, physical activities etc than girls, which makes these girls find company in older boys.

Another thing which is responsible for early maturation is easy access to the internet. There is too much information over the internet and lack of proper guidance makes young girls use it. Moreover, staying in constant touch with their friends due to cell phones also makes them more influenced and less involved with their parents, which again makes them grow faster.

I would like to advice these girls to not grow up so fast and enjoy the pleasures of childhood longer. Its better to let the nature take its course.
