Are My Breasts Normal?
Is it normal to have one breast smaller than other?
Everyone develops differently and it is normal for the two sides of our body to be a little different from each other. There is nothing wrong if the size of your breasts is different from each other. You should worry if there has been a sudden change and the size has grown bigger due to any lump.
Pain in the breast during menstrual cycle:
It is normal to find swelling, tenderness and pain in the breasts before or during your menstrual cycle. It is due to the retention of fluid. Try wearing a bra with proper fitting.
Hair on your breasts:
Except for the palms and the sole of feet, hair can grow anywhere on the body. It is normal to have a few hairs on your breasts. You can cut it with scissors as plucking and shaving can sometimes cause infection.
My nipples are inward instead of outward:
Between 10 to 20 percent girls have inverted nipples. There is nothing wrong in it but you have to keep them clean. Chances of getting infection in the folds of skin around nipples are more. But in case your nipples were outward and have suddenly become inward then you need to consult a doctor.
My breast is lumpy:
The changes that occur in breast tissue during development can cause most lumps. Hormonal changes can also cause lumps. Some lumps can occur during the time of your period but they disappear after your periods are over. In case the lump is still there, then you must consult a doctor.
There is discharge from my nipples:
Any fluid other than milk coming out of the glands is a matter of concern. If the discharge is foul smelling, watery or mixed with blood is a cause of concern. You need to see a doctor immediately.
Regular care of the breasts goes a long way. Self examine your breasts regularly in front of the mirror. Avoid wearing under wire bras and pushup bras for long hours. Tight bras also restrict the drainage of toxins out of the breasts.
