The latest news hitting the national television of Mike Tyson’s little daughter Exodus tragic death was not only overwhelming but also an eye-opener for most of the parents. The four year old who lost her life by accidentally strangling herself with the fitness equipment at home, the news left people shocked globally. Experts say that this not the only isolated case. In fact if one sees at the child accidents that happen all over the world, you might be shocked that the most of the cases have been registered by kids being at home. So does it make you think that home is no longer a safe place?
Kids below the age group of 10 are more vulnerable. They are too old to be kept under control at the same time they are too immature or childish to be left on their own. Urban parents have understood the importance of child safety and are looking forward in making home safe for the young toddlers. Even pediatrician are educating the new moms and dads and clarifying their doubts. The doctors suggest safe measures and see that the child is secure and safe at home. Accidents mostly happen at home, the importance of accidents prevention has to be emphasized. Baby proofing should be the mantra, it should be done in proper, enforced manner and has become a must with the young parents who want to secure safe home for their child.
Even the architects opine that previously there was no such concept of child proofing the house, but now things have changed and change is being felt in this particular direction too when it comes to the first place that is your home and associated with your kid. One should follow the vital safety measures with furniture’s, rounded surfaces and not so sharp edges, smaller gaps, safety with grill etc. Even the kids have to be educated that they should stay away from certain stuffs. Remember today’s kids are quite smart to understand the things for themselves, lay emphasis and they will definitely learn and obey the house regulations.
