A clot in the brain is caused due to bleeding in the area in between the skull and the brain. Causes of blood clot:

Due to injury in the head, the blood in the surrounding area clots and can move to the head with time. The internal bleeding causes the blood to clot which moves to other places of the body causing a stroke.

Effects of blood clot in the brain:

Convulsions:

Blood clot in the brain often causes convulsions. The convulsions may last for 2 or more minutes. However, if it lasts longer, one must immediately consult a doctor.

Severe headache can also be a symptom of blood clot in the brain. The headache worsens with movements or blow.

Paralysis is a common symptom of blood clot in the brain. A person affected with blood clot can be paralyzed on one part of the body completely.

In case, the left side of the brain is affected, a person can have speaking difficulties. The left side of the brain has the power of speech and if it is affected, a person tends to stammer.

Eye is an organ which is adversely affected when the brain is affected. A clot in the brain can cause poor vision or even blindness.

A clot in the brain can be treated with steroids, medications or operation in severe cases. It is advisable to consult a doctor in case of any experience of any of the above symptoms.
