Can You Really Cure Epilepsy?

If you look through the health forums and the various health question n’ answer boards out there, you will find an overriding theme of question. Can epilepsy be cured?

One of the oldest disease on the planet and to be honest, one of the most unpredictable and dangerous ones, epilepsy is surely a thing to be bothered about. At least 2 million US people are affected and around a fifty billion people worldwide are being diagnosed with epilepsy. Something to be worried!

Now, first of all, you should first compass what epilepsy is and why it happens in the first place. To make the medical terminology easier, our brain works in a sequence of electric impulses traveling to and fro. Now, due to some injury, some serious pathological disease, too much mental stress or digestive disturbances, it can happen. It can also occur as a symptom to an underlying disease or just as a side effect to a medication.

Ask any epileptic patient. They’ll surely be under some medication. But the problem is that all of these medications are to prevent the symptoms but not to cure the disorder. If you ask the physicians, most of them are ready to assure you that it will cure but it seldom happens.

And that can be testified by the many patients who are getting their medication for quite a number of years but in vain. But the positive thing is that research is carried out by the medical community. But to be very frank, there is still no medication that PROMISES absolute care.

Am I being too negative? No. It has been noted that most of the people who acquired epilepsy during their adolescence report to be cured in the later part of their lives. Moreover, it has been found that homeopathy provides extraordinary results in some of the cases (not in all of them though).

In some specific cases, it is recommended that you should take homeopathy alongside your allopathic treatment. But we live on hope and when we have the whole medical community toiling for us day in and day out, we surely need not worry!
