Celebrating Your Love
It is a fact that when couples start getting comfortable in their relationship, they tend to take each other for granted. They may take out time to celebrate anniversaries and other special occasions but sometimes that is not enough. As your relationship becomes more mature, you should celebrate the love that you share and not just special days.
You don’t have to go out of your way or plan something really elaborate. The bottom line is to enjoy being with each other and feel good about the relationship. A lot of couples turn everyday into a mini celebration.
You can begin by giving compliments to each other. Try to bring out the positive in them and share with others. Praise them in front of their peers and let them know how much you love them and how proud they make you feel.
Do the things you did during courtship, or if you are not married, during the initial phase of your relationship. Go to the old run down restaurant that you used to go to when money was still short and pickings were slim. Listen to the songs or watch the movies that you used to when you began dating. Just think about old times and relive the magic.
Go through the old albums; take out time for doing activities that just involve the two of you. Go fishing or hiking, take a walk around the block you used to live in when you first moved in together, revisit the coffee shop or the restaurant that you had your first date in.
Raise a toast to each other randomly and make your partner feel that you still value them and their importance in your life has not diminished. You can also randomly buy a thoughtful present and give it to them marked ‘Happy Wednesday’ or whatever day of the week it is.
Doing these small things makes sure that the spark between you and your partner stays and that you always know that you will be there for each other.
