Coffee definitely is one of the world’s most popular concoctions after tea. We consume this in various forms, be it hot or cold, in ice creams, soufflés, chocolates etc. what else can one ask for than the fresh and aromatic brew of hot cuppa in the morning. The major ingredient in coffee is definitely caffeine. It is one of the most powerful drugs and is used in various functions.
Even researchers say that, consumption of coffee helps in weight loss and also reduce the chances of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It is mostly popular as an ergogenioc aid. But is it also consumed on account to improve performance and increase stamina. It is believed with the consumption of coffee prolongs the performance, it has been seen that a hot cup improves the performance in athletes and also reduces the pain sensitivity.
The mental alertness also improves with the reduction in exhaustion and lethargy. This happens as coffee has a chemical substance adenosine that put the mind under sedation. This increases hunger and other cravings for food. It also is capable of putting great stress on the adrenalin. The stress hormones get released and fluctuation in the sugar levels is also seen.
This diuretic drains magnesium, potassium, vitamin B1 and sodium from the body in urine. People who want to loose weight can be harmed with its ingestion. One cup of coffee contains almost 1000 chemical substances. It also alters the metabolism by raising the blood pressure levels. It is also bad as it leads to mood swings.
In some cases, it can cause constipation, irritation in bowels and gastroenteritis. Some of the most popular ways of consumption is in form of mocha, cappuccino etc. the inner purification of the body gets hampered due to the ingestion of coffee.
If it is consumed in a proper way then it is good. If it is mixed with drinks, along with sugar will only lead to increase in calories and will cause more harm. It is always recommended to know both the effects of coffee, useful and harmful, before consumption.
