Combating stress in your own way
The mind reaches its worst mental state due to the emergence of stress. Your agility hits rock bottom, your thoughts are engulfed eventually leading to your frowning at any and everybody. Your health gets affected most due to this “fight or flight” reaction of the body according to the situation.
There are several reasons for the incidence of stress. Of course, the ones topping the charts are job loss, moving home or the loss of your loved one. Perplexing reasons such as “Christmas” are also cause adverse effects. Along with these main points, it is important to point out the fact that, it is not that only one these reasons cause stress. Several such incidents altogether lead to a mental breakdown.
Another crucial cause of stress is your inability to influence the result of an incident and being forced to succumb to it. This enormously affects your frustration levels. For example, when you get stuck up in traffic during rush hours or awaiting a call from someone whereas the person is deliberately avoiding doing so.
This last example illustrates the problem of emotional stress. At times when you feel that the person with whom you are emotionally attached is going to get affected or you earnestly want to do something but fail to do so your mental set-up gets highly disturbed.
Simply having a bad day or a sudden discrepancy in hormone rates lead to stressful situations of which you are completely unaware. During these times having a sound sleep or a good meal eases your nerves. The term “sleeping it on” actually originated from this concept.
A lack of important vitamins and nutrients in the body and fatigue enhances this disorder. Rejuvenate yourselves to the normal mode with a quick power nap and meal. You are often tempted to resort to drinking. But this actually deteriorates your condition. Instead of reviving your mental strength you feel even more miserable. Avoid alcohol during your glum state.
Being aware of the sources of your stress will help you easily combat with it. You learn to deal with the situation in the best possible way. One way to reinstate the confidence in yourself is to realize the fact that you are not the only person facing this problem. Millions of people undergo this phenomenon not deliberately but because they are the victims of circumstance. The challenge rests in your hand to eliminate it.
