Corporate Etiquettes Some Do’s And Don’ts
In this new age where corporate culture has been absorbed in almost everybody, it’s natural for us to flow with the tide and practice the corporate way of lifestyle too. Etiquettes and manners play a vital role in a business group. One has to be careful in moving and gifting when it comes to send souvenir to your clients. Care should be taken that each and everything is done in appropriate way. It could make or break your business too. Here are some etiquettes suggested that should be practiced and followed in a corporate gifting culture.
Some do’s-
Always gift something that shows a touch of class and taste, it should suggest a direct reflection of your business. So the gift should be such that makes a lasting impression on the minds of the people. The gift should be such that it sets the business apart and should be remembered by your clients.
It is always good if you are acquainted with, where your client’s interest lies in. If you are unaware about his/her taste then can also contact his/her assistant to know about the person’s likes and dislikes.
Before sending a corporate gift, it’s always suggested to see the recipient’s policies on gift giving. As some of the companies have austere guidelines, especially on what their employees can and cannot receive. It is safe to ask the clients directly if they have any restrictions as such, one can also contact the personal department to get the guidelines.
The gift that you are sending should be appropriately wrapped. The inside as well as the outside of the gift box should be appealing. A hand written note will show personal care and concern.
Some don’ts-
Being too lavish on gift may bring embarrassment or shock to your client. But the gift that you are giving neither should be cheap or despicable.
Never ever give cash; it will appear that you are offering a bribe. Also think twice before buying the right gift. The gift that you have bought should not be inappropriate. Some times a gift that has been bought with innocent intentions has been perceived in a wrong way.
When the gift is for the opposite sex, avoid thing that are too construed as too intimate. Gifts of liquor should be handled very gracefully and carefully. It’s best that a wine or a champagne bottle would be appreciated by an aficionado. But if the person is a teetotaler, then he/she may take it as an offense too.
Avoid turning your gifts by making it into marketing strategies. Include your logo that is small and subtle too.
