Firstly, it is possible you have found your partner online and he would like you to come to a particular place for a date. If that is the case then please do not go alone, take a friend along and meet in a public place where there are people around. It is not that you expect something bad to happen but you are being safe. If a friend has set you up, take the friend along on the first date. One, you will feel comfortable while meeting someone new, it will get the conversation rolling and since your friend is there you need not feel insecure.

It is possible that you met on your date in a party or at a function but never agree to meet at a man’s house on your first date. It is not safe since you really do not know much about him. Agree to meet at a public place; after you have built a rapport then you may do as per your discretion.  Be careful about what you speak on your first date. Most women will reveal everything about them and even take him to their apartment. Never make that mistake, when you are really worried about your safety, reveal very few details. Get to know the person, feel comfortable with him and only then reveal secrets about yourself. If you are too hasty you may regret later.

If you are into online dating do not disclose sensitive information. Never disclose your real name, phone number and address. While working online you cannot really check the authenticity of a person so be on your guard. Since everything is virtual you may be just chatting away with someone who actually wants your bank details and wants to trick and cheat you. Never trust anyone before you know them well.
