Dating Tips

So, you finally got the guts to ask out a really hot guy, who you had been eyeing for the last six months, to go out on a date with you. And she/he said yes! The hard part is over, right? Wrong!! The hard part is just about to begin. If you want this first date to transform into a second and a third date, that is. Well then, you go to impress the heck out of them. And unfortunately, you have only one chance, one strike!

So, let’s do the basics first. Have you picked out a place to go? As this is the first date, perhaps you could go to a place or do something both you enjoy- like bowling or to a movie. Since you guys might be a little unsure what to say, doing something together can cover-up for those dead silences. If you don’t want to go to Cineplex with him/her call them over to your place, and get a DVD of your favorite romantic comedy. Go the whole nine yards, prepare popcorn and get the awesome surround sound speakers from your friends. But do this only if you are sure you know the date won’t be uncomfortable at your home. Call and ask them beforehand to avoid last moment anxious looks.

A good idea for first dates, is to not to go for messy food. You don’t want to look like a glutton or a pig in front of you special someone. Can you imagine the turn off it can seem if you get mayo sauce all over your mouth! Having a light snack before the date will keep the tummy from making those F1 car’s engine sounds.

Now that the venue and food has been decided, lets get ready to go meet them. Ensure on the DoD (day of date) you are free- obviously, won’t be much of a date if you had to bring her to your office! Before the date, prepare yourself.

Visit the salon/parlour. Yes guys it applies to you too. Be a little meterosexual for once. Personal hygiene can be a turn off, so do take a nice luxurious bath before going off on the date. Apply some perfume/ aftershave/ cologne, but don’t overdo it. You don’t want to nauseate the date. Try not to mix too many scents- like that of your body wash, shampoo, cologne, deodorant etc. And don’t forget to pack some breath mints with you, for those crucial close moments.

And lastly, be happy, and carry a winning attitude. Like the famous SMS says, ‘smile! You never know whose waiting to fall in love with it’.
