Diabetic Care To Prevent Heart Diseases

Diabetes is an ailment that remains for life. It can be lessened but there is no cure as such for this condition. A diabetic should keep his/her sugar in control as excessive glucose levels can lead to other complications of heart diseases.

A diabetic person is more prone to heart problems then a non-diabetic person. Just try to main the cholesterol to normal levels. High cholesterol levels can take peril to life as the inner sides of the blood vessels can get clogged. This condition is also known as atherosclerosis. Due to this the normal flow of the blood gets affected. The narrow opening results in more pressure in the blood ultimately causing high blood pressure.

Some of the risks in a diabetic are-
The blood pressure should be under control. It’s better to go for timely check up and if medications are given then take them regularly. High fat content is another factor that is not good for the heart. A diabetic has to be careful about his/her weight.

Another health hazard is due to smoking. It has been seen that when people are stressed then they tend to smoke more. A diabetic should give up smoking, for his own good health. Lack of exercises is another major cause of heart attack. One must follow the fitness regime with most diligence. Keep the body in good shape by walking or light jogging and try to maintain the body weight in a positive way. If there is a family history of any heart disease, then the chance of diabetes also increases.

How one can reduce the risk of diabetes- just keep the blood pressure and fat under control. Keep a tab on it. Shun smoking and consume a low fat diet. Indulge in adequate physical activity and try to maintain proper sugar levels.

What are the warning signs of stroke?
If there is sudden weakness or numbness in face, legs or arms, problem in vision, difficulty in speech, severe headache and  lack of clarity of thought and expression.

One can take care of the heart if adequate precautions are taken. With proper diet and regular exercising one can reduce the cardiovascular diseases.
