Diarrhea – causes and treatment

Diarrhea is a medical disease characterized by the frequent passing of loose stools along with vomiting and indigestion. Infants are more prone to diarrhea. However, adults can also be affected by it. Chronic diarrhea can even resulting the death of the patient. As a large amount of water is released from the body, the body tends to get dehydrated. Certain medication doesn’t suit our body and affects the digestive system causing diarrhea.

Contaminated water: Contaminated water contains the largest amount of bacteria causing diarrhea. Always opt for mineral water.

Diagnosis and treatment of diarrhea: Consult a doctor if you experience the above-stated symptoms. A stool test is the best way to diagnose diarrhea. Once diagnosed, the doctor will prescribe electrolyte containing fluids or saline water for few weeks. The best way to combat diarrhea is to maintain hygiene. Always ensure cleanliness and healthy food habits.
