Do Big Boys Cry?
Men do choke up watching sentimental movies, suffer at the death of a relationship and even embrace their friends. These emotional expressions no longer are confined in the female domain. Men too have emotions; the only difference is that they have trouble expressing them because of the so called taboo, that men should not express their feelings.
But this should not be taken lightly as men are not emotional fools. Men do cry but they do not howl. They even exchange news about others without entering into gossips. In fact it’s a thing of past with men putting up brave front and who never cries. It’s not the grief that make the eyes of a man wet but even in moment of happiness tears do flow out from the men’s eyes. A man also has a heart, it also breaks up and he also feels lump in his throat.
Both men as well as women show and express all signs of emotions. They cry, rejoice, shout, sigh, and weep. The testosterone dampens these emotions in men. Women are more in touch with their emotions. Crying and shedding tears is much needed outlet of emotions for men. The metro-sexual man is not afraid to show their softer side.
But women may find things confusing as they want their men to be sensitive as well as they seek their man to be the pillar of strength of their life. This vulnerability skulks behind a man’s hard and stoic façade. He knows that he is the caretaker and the harbinger of his family. He is meant to fix things when broken. Thus in times of emotional turbulence when he feels powerless he shuts himself down.
Today’s men are not afraid to express themselves and their emotions openly. Some tears cannot be misunderstood as they are also the sign of strength.
