Does Breast Sizes Matter?
As men are subject to comparison on their equipment, women are put through judgment on their breast sizes. Grass is always greener on the other side and thus, women, whether she is the proud owner of bigger proportions or the smaller ratios, are always prone to find the other side better and more coveted.
First of all, you must understand the basic anatomy of the breast of a woman. The breast size depends on fatty/fibrous tissues of the breast and not on the mammary glandular tissue. Normally people associate breast size with the production of milk and also breast cancer.
Now let’s dispel with some popular myths
Remember, the breast size doesn’t depend on the amount of milk-production glands in your breast. So, even if you have ultra-small breasts, that doesn’t mean you will produce lesser milk than the bigger counterparts will. Are you facing lactation problem, don’t think that it is because of your small breasts. Just contact a doctor, he’ll let you know the actual reason and will show how to overcome that.
Secondly, there’s a common belief that big breasts are more vulnerable to breast cancer. This still comes from the same notion that bigger the breasts, more the mammary glandular tissues. And more glandular tissue you have, more are your chances of getting cancer. But when every woman have more or less same amount of glandular tissue, how can the one with bigger breasts be more susceptible to breast cancer?
But yes, since overweight women tend to possess larger breasts and obesity is a reason for cancer, so apparently bigger breasts might stand out as a valid reason for breast cancer. And don’t think that increases your breasts, more the pain you have to endure when doing a mammogram. Chuck off any such idea, which has been completely proved wrong by the scientific community.
But we come to a different viewpoint. It has been established that bigger women have a propensity for headaches, backaches, and shoulder/neck pain. They can wear a tight fitting bra or they can do regular exercise to get slimmer. That would surely help but some prefer the boob-reduction mammoplastic surgery. And that’s not all. There’s prejudice against women with too big or too small boobs. They have to go through emotional pressure as well, unless she conforms to the idealized customs.
But if you really think on it, breast sizes DON’T really matter and women should learn to be comfortable and confident with what they have got.
