She may have a very good reason for not inviting you or maybe it could be a family decision and not hers. Try to know the truth and then make a decision whether you want to continue with the friendship or not.

When your mother in law is mean to you:
Every relationship needs a lot of nurturing to grow. It is your choice whether you want to work on it or not, but this is one relationship you cannot cut out of your life. Try to find out the reason of her behavior and her expectations from you. Tell her how her behavior is affecting you; put an effort to re build it. But in case your mother in law is not ready to budge then just forgive and maintain a distance. This is because it has been proved that forgiveness is good for both mental and physical health and staying away from people who bring negativity will help you in enjoying your life better.
