Dry Skin Fixes
Skincare should change with the change of season. In summer when you see that you are protecting your body from harsh sun rays, while in winter you make use of moisturizers so as to avoid the skin from turning dry and flaky. The low temperatures and humidity depletes the skin natural lipid layer which makes the skin dry. Here are some quick fixes for dry hands, face, lips, feet and body.
See that the water you are using is not very hot, keep it Luke warm. Hot water robs moisture from skin making it dry, even while taking shower use Luke warm water.
The next step is to moisturize the hands, legs, feet, face etc; this will keep the skin soft and supple. Apply moisturizer over slightly damp skin. Pat over the skin instead of rubbing. Avoid using the antibacterial soaps that are available in public places and toilets. Keep one in your purse with the goodness of natural oil one. Keep the cuticles soft by massaging it with olive or jojoba oil. The skin moisturizes more effectively over a properly exfoliated skin. Make use of gentle scrub while taking shower and exfoliate the skin surface.
During the winter sleep in room with humidifier. Furnaces will only increase the humidity and rob off the moisture. So ensure that you have invested in good quality humidifier.
The cleanser that you are using should be creamy with glycerin or petrolatum. Also check that while leaving outdoors you have generously applied moisturizer. Sleep wearing cotton socks at night. Keep the skin hydrated but that doesn’t mean that you should go over board.
Chapped lips are a big no no. Moisturize them with good quality lip balm, you can even flaunt the sheer gloss one type. Fish oil pills are a boon in the adversely cold winter months. The hair, skin and the nails could be seen with marked improvement.
By following all the above mentioned practices you can have safe and secured cool winter months.
