Easy steps to a healthy heart

    No matter what your age it’s never too early to start taking care of your heart. In fact, it is always good to make heart friendly life changes as early as possible.It is believed that 80% of the heart diseases are preventable just by following a basic health routine.

    Here are a few tips,

    First of all, Make sure you take a 30 minute walk everyday. It takes some commitment to walk daily but it has a very positive long lasting effect, especially on the heart.

    Try adding nuts in your diet. Make certain you eat them unsalted and raw.Eating 30 grams of nuts everyday provides us with healthy omega 3 fatty acids, healthy proteins and some fiber which are very good for the heart.
    You can also refrigerate them to make them crunchy.

    Good news for sauce lovers. Tomato sauce has potassium which lowers the blood pressure. Hence, including sauce in your daily diet is a very good idea.Also, try decreasing the sodium intake as excessive salt in the body can lead to the risk of high blood pressure.

    People with pot belly are more prone to high blood pressure than others. The reason being that the fat around belly squeezes the kidney and the liver. This makes them work harder and makes them release hormones that cause increase of blood pressure.Hence, it’s important to get rid of the belly fat!

    Oral Health is also very important for the heart as it affects our arterial health, which in return affects the flow of the blood to the heart.For this matter, Eat lots of fruits and veggies. The more colorful they are the better it will be.

    A glass of wine or any other form of alcohol is really good for the heart. It is a profitable practice to have a glass everyday.In fact, after a research it was found that teetotalers have a higher risk of heart disease than people who drink a little.But, Bear in mind that a little means a little.

    Lower the intake of sugar in your diet as it causes inflammation. Also, reduce the amount of cooking oil instead of coconut oil or butter switch to corn olive or safflower oil.

    Prevention or modification of risk factors helps in the prevention of heart problems.
    Take baby steps to a healthier lifestyle.
