Fish and Fish Oil Linked to a decreased Diabetes Risk!

Highly reputed medical institutes have revealed from studies that consuming more than moderate amounts of fish servings, which are a rich source of omega3 oil, can lead to a lower risk of diabetes.

Most of the studies were conducted with large samples of more than 100,000 people for a number of years and it revealed that people with moderate consumption of fish servings remained at a safe distance from the risk of being prone to diabetes. But there is also research to state that patients who have a higher level of triglycerides in their blood were more susceptible to fish oil. That means fish oil can and does control bad cholesterol levels!

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the most commonly disease all over the world at present. Diabetic patients in general are unable to release adequate amounts of insulin from their pancreas to keep the blood sugar levels well regulated. But research carried out in France has shown that patients who were on fish oil could lower their bad cholesterol levels, get flaring high blood pressure levels under control and even reduce their risk of heart disease.

The recommended dosage of fish oil is about 6gms per day but you should get in touch with your doctor to find out the best dose for your specific condition. After you have been on the capsule for a few days you can get your blood levels checked again and get your triglycerides under control at 100 and you can increase your fish oil intake to 20gms per day

The main aspects of fish oil which lead to a taker being saved from diabetes are its effects on the metabolism in one’s body. Of course you can stay away from cod liver oil capsules that are really high in vitamin A and vitamin D. Too much of this is not really that great for anyone except growing children. Switch your intake to fish oil that is rich is EPA and DHA like the oils found in sardines, halibut, salmon and mackerel.

Try pudding based supplements or ordinary liquid fish oil that is perfect. Try to use distilled or deodorized fish oil supplements as they usually are free of deep sea contaminants like mercury etc.

The intake of fish oil in adults below 40 is not a problem if the intake is regulated sensibly. But do remember that just eating fish oil is not enough! You need to control your diet and have lifestyle changes to make your diabetes a thing of the past!
