You always knew that no one understands you better than your best friend. But yet the prospect of making him your boyfriend never came in your mind. But one fine morning you realized that he is the perfect man for you and that you want to spend your entire life with him.

Though there are many attractions and advantages of your best friend being your boyfriend, but the matter does bring along a few threatening, or at least concerning, aspects that you should take into consideration before making the final decision.

The list of advantages is long in case your best friend turns into your boyfriend. Firstly, you do not need to put your best foot forward to impress him. He already knows you too well. In fact he is possibly aware of the worst forms of yours, whether in terms of looks or temperaments, and accepts you as you are. Both of you are compatible and share similar interests. Your family knows him and likes him too. So a big tension of introducing him to your family is also resolved by itself. It might also be that he is close to your family members, which will then be like icing on the cake.

The glitches however can be quite serious in such a relationship. Since you two know each other so well so there would be nothing much to discover about each other which may lead to quick boredom. And if things don’t work out and after some time of being into the relationship the two of you decide to part ways, then it becomes difficult to maintain the friendship that you used to share with each other earlier.

Even if you try to keep that friendship alive post your break up, then you will find the comfort missing in the friendship. So, walking out of the relationship may mean losing on the friendship and may be even the friend who is an inseparable part of your life.
