Gastritis Diet
Gastritis happens, when in the stomach lining inflammation is felt. It could be due to numerous reasons. Inflammation can be due to excessive intake of alcohol, long usage of oral medications or drugs, bacterial infection inside the stomach. In most of the cases gastritis is developed due to major surgery, injury or infection. Ailments and conditions like bile reflux, pernicious anemia and other autoimmune disorders can lead to gastritis.
Patient who suffer from this condition complain with pain in the abdomen, nausea and vomiting. Apart from this one may also experience bloating in the abdomen and belching. The abdomen might have burning sensation. One may also pass black stools or blood vomit. In such cases immediate medical attention is needed.
The simplest and easiest way is by controlling the diet. Food that can be easily digested should be consumed. The food should not be very spicy or oily.
Diet for gastritis prevention:-
Take care that the patient eats regular meals and does not skips them. Eating late or skipping meals can lead to acidity; this may further aggravate the condition. Also see that the consumption of dairy products is limited. If consumed see that you intake one that has low fat content or else it is fat free. This will reduce the acid production of the stomach.
Spices, alcohol, pepper, chilly should be avoided. Caffeinated drinks will also increase the problem. See that cola beverage; cocoa, strong tea and coffee should be avoided. Also citrus juices, tomatoes and fatty foods should be consumed in limited quantity. They may lead to heartburn and can cause pain in the food pipe.
Avoid seasonings of spices like cinnamon, garlic and onions. Fibrous food like vegetables and fruits, beans and whole grains can be taken. Food that increases gas production should not be taken.
One a whole the food that is consumed in this condition should not cause pain or disrupt bowel movement. The food should be simple and easy to digest.
