GERD Diet

In order keep the condition under control one should take vegetables in form of peas, carrots, beans and broccoli. It is always recommended to avoid meat. But still if one wishes to do so, then lean and skinless chicken or fish can be consumed.
Fruits are also good. One can easily consume papaya and pineapple in this condition. Grains that are regular ones like crackers, cereals are safe to eat. Water is important element of the diet plan. Replenish the body with ample amount of water.
One has to keep certain important things into consideration while planning the diet plan. The meals should be small and frequent. Small quantities of food become easy for digestion and less amount of acid will be secreted.
Extremely oily and spicy food stuff should be avoided. By consuming this kind of food more amount of acid secretion takes place. Junk foods are big no no. avoid overeating or binging over food. This may worsen the condition. Caffeine, alcohol and other carbonated beverages should not be taken. Extremely tight fitted clothes should not be worn. See that you before 3 hrs before going to sleep, so as to avoid indigestion.
Onions in raw form, French fries, mashed potatoes, noodles, chesses, macaroni, beef, meat, pork, citrus fruit juices and dairy products like whole milk, ice cream, milk shakes should be avoided. Excessive dressing, doughnuts, cookies and cakes that have high calories should be avoided. For planning the diet one can seek the dietician’s help.
