Get Rid of Sinus Using a ‘Neti-Pot’
Ever heard of a neti-pot? Although a weird name but it is of great usage. It is basically a clay/metal pot with an extended passage and handle on either extreme. Used mainly by the yogis, this particular device was mainly used to clear the blockages of the sinus and let free air movement of the passages. This way your breathing process gets better as well. The following are the ways in which one can use it:
Since it is widely used these days, you will surely manage to get hold of one from you local grocery or medicine store.
One can definitely use plain and simple lukewarm water but it will really prove to be beneficial if a saline solution is used. You might also be provided with saline mixtures in packets. Prepare a saline solution using the saline mixtures and water and boil to make it just lukewarm. Although it varies from person to person, you might find it preferable to use only half a packet of the saline mixture in the beginning. Eventually you will get used to the whole procedure.
Bend forward towards the bowl. Then just tilt your head slightly sideward’s. Make sure you are in a position such that the forehead is at a higher location than your chin.
Then place the extended opening of the neti-pot inside your nostrils. The position of the neti-pot will be higher than your nostrils and with you head tilted somewhat sideways. In this way the saline solution will freely flow inside your nose and wash out the blockages.
Do not worry. You will see due to this peculiar positioning of your head that the water will eventually trickle out from the other nostril of yours. Initially you will have a similar feeling just like when you are in a swimming pool and water start rushing into your nose.
The procedure needs to be repeated just the same way as mentioned above for the other nostril. This way the sinus blockages of both the sides will be cleared and cleaned. The neti-pot method is very effective and if practiced regularly then your sinus oriented problems or other illnesses will be permanently removed. Try to practice it at least once a day, preferably in the morning.
