Good Foods for Your Heart
By adding certain foods in your diet, you can decrease your heart disease risk:
Salmon:
It is the most delicious and nutritious food, full of proteins and good fats. It reduces inflammation and clotting of the blood which causes many strokes.
Olive:
They contain anti oxidants which help to strengthen the immune system. The olive oil prevents cholesterol sticking to the walls of artery, preventing heart attack and stroke.
Oats:
Eating oats regularly lowers blood cholesterol level. It treats depression, anxiety and nervous disorders. Oats are also full of magnesium and zinc. It also helps in stabilizing blood sugar.
Almonds:
They not only help fight obesity and diabetes but have the same effects as the cholesterol lowering drug called statin. Almonds are full of plant chemicals that provide protection against heart attack and stroke.
Apples:
Two apples a day can reduce the levels of cholesterol by 10%. A soluble fiber called Pectin plays a significant role in this.
Flex seeds:
They are full of omega 3 fatty acids which help in lowering the bad cholesterol. You can take one table spoon of flex seeds every day.
Dark green veggies:
Veggies are perhaps the best concentrated source of nutrition. It protects our cells from damaging and blood from clotting. They also contribute in fighting depression.
Soya:
Our body need protein and eating soya instead of red meat reduces the intake of saturated fats.
Red wine:
Red wine has resveratrol, which protects against heart attack. Add one to two glasses of wine per day in your diet.
Tomatoes:
Lycopene is an anti oxidant which helps reduce the risk of cardio vascular disease and tomatoes are rich in it. Add lots of tomato sauce and tomato juices in your diet. You should have 25 to 75 milligrams of Lecopene every day.
