A woman faces different health issues at different stages of her life and awareness of them can help her look after herself better and stay healthy.
At the age of twenty to thirty, women generally face menstrual problems, miscarriages, unplanned pregnancy or difficulty in getting pregnant. They also face cosmetic problems, like acne, hair fall or other skin problems due to imbalance of hormones.
Regular gynecological checkup is a must. Discussions with the doctor can make women more aware regarding their bodies, especially, PMS or unwanted pregnancy. There are some tests like Pap smear or Sonography which can diagnose fibroids or orient cyst. Early detection can be treated with proper medication.
At the age of forty, which is also known as pre menopausal age, women face menstrual disturbances due to fibroids or cysts in the ovary. They also complain of vaginal dryness, low sex drive etc. Lack of personal care due to the family problems can lead to high blood pressure, obesity, stress etc. You will be amazed to see how one thing leads to another.
For example: obesity and stress can lead to depression, blood pressure and diabetes, which can again lead to heart problem and cancer etc. Annual medical checkup can help doctor detect problems. He can prescribe medicines with some healthy lifestyle habits, like eating right, being physically and mentally active.
Issues like breast cancer, menopause, osteoporosis, are of the main concern after the age of fifty. 80% of the cancer occurs after the menopause. Try to examine breasts regularly. Go for a medical checkup. You should also take an annual pelvic examination and Pap test for ovarian or cervical cancer.
Almost one in three women is affected by osteoporosis. You should take a bone intensity test and adopt healthy habits. Balanced diets and weight bearing exercises can increase the density of the bones. Aim for being healthy and not just look good.
