Healthy Diet Foods
People always wonder in spite of eating less food and leading a life which is active, why do they still get fat and fall sick. There is a lot of truth in “we are what we eat” and most of the time we are not eating right.
We all know that eating food is good for health as it is a good source of vitamins, enzymes and anti oxidants. The enzymes help lever in digesting the food and lack of it can lead to lever disorder and other digestive problems. The fruits can be divided in three categories- citrus (orange/grape fruit, etc) filling (apple, banana, etc) and cleansing (papaya, pineapple, etc). You need to eat one food from each category everyday. It is better to eat seasonal fruit instead of eating fruit which comes from cold storage.
You need to include fiber in your diet. There are two types of fiber- soluble and insoluble. The insoluble fiber moves the food from digestive track and soluble slows them down. Both need water to keep it soft. Men need 40 to 50gm of fiber and women need 25 to 35gm per day. Beans, whole grains, fruits, vegetables and bran are a good source of fiber. However, over doing it can cause gas and bloating.
Moreover, another thing which has to be taken care of is variety. It not only brings spice in your life but also makes your diet balanced. Instead of eating only wheat and rice that also highly processed form which makes them loose all the nutrients.
Include other cereals like millet, ragi, cholam, etc. Add health foods like sprouts, wheat grass juice, aloe-Vera, amla, herbs, nuts and oil seeds in your dishes.
Remember, the less are foods stays on fire the better it is. Hence, instead of simmering the vegetables for hours, you can stir fry them Chinese style or take in the form of juice or soup.
Eating healthy is a good way to staying healthy. Hence stick to a healthy diet.
