Holidaying can put a peril to the heart at risk

Are you planning for a weekend party? Is it a cocktail one? Are you planning to booze off with your pals and buddies with drinks and alcohol? And whether you are binging on alcohol after a long gap of time? If you have any of your plans ahead then it’s better to think twice before hosting such parties. There are chances that you may be struck by “weekend heart syndrome”.

A recent study was done by a group of British researchers. They reveal that heavy drinking and boozing off in the weekends can increase the chance of heart attacks among middle aged men, to twice. Well the research and findings associated with it are relatively new. It has created quite a buzz among most of the cardiologist and the debate is still going on about the findings of the study. Other opines that it would be appropriate to refer it as “holiday heart syndrome”.

The possibility of people getting prone to cardiac arrest and strokes during vacation time, after along break when they are not doing much cannot be neglected. Even the experts opine that when people work under extreme pressure they should try to take a break and relax. This is important in bringing control to the blood pressure and rejuvenating the entire system. But it has been observed that during vacationing people overindulge in activities that increase pleasure and this may lead to the secretion catecholamines, this result in stroke.

Any indulgence in activity that leads to excessive excitement after along gap of time can result in arrest. This happens when a person who consumes excessive alcohol, can lead in irregular heart rate. Due to any kind of such activity irregular blood flows into the heart chambers and can lead to the formation of clot, finally causing stroke. In most of the cases the brain works overtime and the blood pressure rises. This fluctuation in blood pressure can lead to an attack.
