Home Remedies for Toothache
The main reason for any toothache is tooth decay, infection in the gums or destruction of the bones around the teeth and a faulty diet. Too much of sugary foods like- cakes, pastries, colas aggravate the problem. Here are some home remedies which can help you by relieving you of the pain. These remedies are effective, especially if you are not able to get medical help immediately.
Take a clove of garlic with some rock salt and place it on the affected tooth.
Eating raw onions kill all the germs in the mouth. It improves dental health and makes the teeth strong. Keeping a piece of raw onion inside your bad tooth can help in lessening the pain.
Another home remedy which relieves pain is the use of clove. It is known for its antifungal, antiseptic, anti microbial and stimulating properties. It is very effective in toothache. You can apply some clove oil to a cavity in a decayed tooth or keep a clove under the tooth which is aching.
Chewing leaves of a guava tree also reduce pain.
Drop some vanilla extract on a Q tip or a cotton ball and apply it for sometime to the tooth. It not only relieves you from the pain but also tastes good. Moreover, lye down keeping your head elevated. This will minimize the flow of the blood to the area and lessen the pain.
Massage your gums with lemon juice it will stop bleeding of the gums and also cure smell and other gum related problems.
Try gargling with the solution of few spoons of baking soda in a glass of warm water. Hold it for a few seconds each time and then spit.
Don’t give hot compress as it will make the infection spread. Use cold compress to the outside of cheek till you see the dentist. Instead of brushing your teeth too much, massage your gums regularly with your finger after every meal. It improves the blood circulation and protects us form many dental problems.
