This is a million dollar question, in a relationship: how to make a man propose. And while you cannot force a person to feel something they don’t, there are some simple nudges which can be given to put him thinking upon the right path.

One thing you can do is to make him aware of where your interest lies, and that should be in a lifetime commitment. Subtle hints may work and you could try telling him things like “I don’t know what to do without you” or similar futuristic stuff.

Pointing out shared values, common goals and interests would go a long ways. More than words; actions can also show the direction your mind. You could show him through your sincerity, kindness and other appealing traits, and then indicate what a great life partner you would make him.

If he is of a shy variety, you could try and create opportunities for him to ask you. A romantic evening out, a weekend get together or something as simple as a candle light dinner could also work in creating the right atmosphere.

If the love of your life is not ready emotionally or mentally, then chances are he won’t propose unless some dire circumstances occur. One thing you can do to make him propose is to first make him want to propose.

Gently leading him into thinking about it would be a good start. Try to talk to him about the mental blocks that he may have constructed in his mind which is stopping him from popping the question. Once those are cleared, you are good to go.
