How To Bond With Your Child

Parenting is the world’s hardest job, so don’t be too harsh on yourself. Every child is unique and has to be handled differently. Parents are the number one influence in the child’s life. You are the most important person to them. There are some parenting tips which will help you in bringing up your child:

Set good examples:
Children are like monkeys. They will imitate you. They watch their parents and learn from them. You can examine your own behavior and set a good example for your child. You are there role model. If you are polite your child is going to be respectful. If you are abusive your child will pick up on it. You cannot make them any better than the examples they see around everyday.

Find more family time:
Quality time is a myth, children need quantity. Spend as much time as you can with your child. No matter how many toys or activities are there the child still wants to be with the parents. Things are no substitute for the time you give to your child. Parents who are working should be more careful. Make it a point to spend all the spare time with your child. Take help from others for the chores around the house. Don’t be fussy; family time is the hardest to prioritize because other demands always seem more urgent.

Involve yourself in your child’s life:
Parents are like potters, to make a perfect vessel the potter has to be involved till the end. He has to be firm but give his full support as well. Small negligence or pressure can change the shape of the vessel. Same is with the child. The more involved you are the more you will be able to guide them and dissuade them in doing anything wrong. Listen to them instead of watching television, do some activity with your child.

Be happy:
This is very important. A happy mother will raise a happy child. Motherhood does not mean you have to be a martyre. Nurture yourself also. There is no need to rob you of your selfhood. You cannot take care if your own well runs dry.
