How to deal with tensions in every day life?
Work, personal life, relationships, commuting and other health problems are the stuffs, which everybody carries with themselves. The workload and mounting pressures, further add to the woes. In today’s fast paced life, were people cannot afford to waste even a single second, one may find it impossible to chill, sit back, relax and unwind for themselves. “One cannot waste the time”, is the attitude we see among most of the people.
The ability to perform also gets affected on account of this. Stress is basically attitudinal and it gets reflected in ones behavior and conduct. Some of the most common emotional symptoms, due to stress are anger, anxiety, fear, nervousness, etc. Under extreme conditions, it could result in brain damage and weight problems.
A study was conducted by the Washington University School of Medicine, Missouri, and the study has proved and has given evidence, of damage to the brain neurons, among the people suffering from excess stress. Hence, it becomes important for the people to shun tensions, so as to save themselves from mental illness. Vacationing, holidaying, spa treatments, yoga, massage therapy are considered some of the best and effective ways to de-stress, apart from popping up some pills to relive the stressed nerves.
Here are some ways suggested to relive from tensions in everyday life:-
Exercising- Indulging in any kind of physical activity like, walking, dancing, swimming, aerobics, tennis etc, helps in reducing all the negative energy and relaxing the brain. When the body gets indulged in any kind of physical activity, the mind gets diverted and all the negative energies are burnt out, and finally the body emerges in much calmer form.
Music – One can de-stress themselves by listening to music, in form of jazz, country songs, soft rock or any classical form. Technology has made life easier in form of Ipods, mp4’s and other music players. Not only this, one can absorb themselves in the nature’s music like, chirping of birds, waves of sea, winds of woods, rustling of tree leaves etc.
Even studies have proved that listening to music alleviates tensions and worries. It is considered one of the most effective kinds of stress busters.
Eating healthy- Emotional eating or food for comfort is that latest term creating rounds, on account of stress and anxiety. Unwanted stress can lead to unhealthy eating. Diet can also get diverted, if one is not mentally fit. It reflects the mind and body too. Balanced diet is necessary, Avoid caffeine and alcohol.
Be yourself- In today’s hustle and bustle one tends to loose oneself. Let this not happen to you. Even in your busy schedule take time for yourself. Spend this “ME TIME” only for you. A small 15-30 minutes a day is enough to leave you refreshed. You can spend this time meditating, pondering or even by taking a small power nap.
The ways are many. It’s important to explore yourself and see how you can overcome everyday tensions in much better way.
