How To Eat Right While On An Outing

Most of the time people choose wrong food due to ignorance. For example, a healthy salad can be full of calories due to rich dressing or the calories of a burger can be doubled by adding mayonnaise and French fries. It is not that you should start eating—no oil, no sugar, no taste dishes but by adding and leaving certain things you can keep your pallet happy without worrying of those inches.

If you get sudden hunger pans while you are out with your friends shopping or watching movies make sure you go for steamed corn. It is a complex carbohydrate and a good source of vitamin C. You can also take a kid sized bag of unbuttered pop corn. Being whole grain they are full of anti oxidants and lots of fiber. Tortillas with tomato sauce are also a good option. You can even eat sandwich with nutritious filling like carrots, tomatoes, cottage cheese and lettuce. If you are a non vegetarian go for a grilled chicken sandwich. Use mustard sauce instead of cheese and mayonnaise.

Eating out with your friends should not be a guilty trip instead of a pleasure trip. Those birthday treats, engagement parties or simply trying a new restaurant are moments which should not be missed as they add on to your memory bank. In such occasions, with a little care you can cut down on your calorie intake. For example, instead of regular soup go for a clear soup or minestrone soup that is full of veggies. Moreover, instead of eating fried chicken or chicken wings go for grilled chicken or chicken platter. It definitely will be a healthier option. Try to avoid rich dressings of cream and cheeses instead go for the tomato dressings full of iron, potassium, Vitamin A and C.

Water should be your first choice to quench your thirst but incase it is not possible then opt for a diet version of the cola, it will help you avoiding empty calories. Last but not the least, people who cannot resist desserts should try dark chocolate with nuts or Gelato—an Italian version of ice cream.
