How To Eliminate Humiliation?

Embarrassment! Shame! Humiliation! The most poisonous feelings in the face of the universe. They make us feel bad about ourselves and also make it very hard to face the world. Eliminating humiliation can be hard but it is certainly not impossible. Here are some points you need to work upon:

Make sure your actions are in tune with your convictions:
If your behavior violates your own moral standards, humiliation is an obvious consequence. There are two ways of taking care of this situation.

First technique, Avoid doing anything that you think is morally wrong. This is simple and straight forward.

Second technique, Rethink your beliefs. Stop trying to change your behavior, instead change your thinking.

When you feel that your brain does not quiet agree with the moral standards you have set for yourself then the only way to deal with it is to change your convictions. This will really help you get over the embarrassment. Remember, embarrassment by adopting a constructive technique will transform you from an emotional paralytic to a force to be recon with. It will give a permanent solution.

Be open:
Opening up and discussing topics which you have always avoided out of shame or embarrassment will also help you deal with the problem. It will be a kind of declaration for you that you are not afraid anymore. For instance, a lot of times people who have been abused as children tend to suppress and stay quiet about their tragedy. They feel embarrassed and fear the society will reject them if they talk about it. This suppression can have a serious impact on there psychological well being. Talking about the tragedy will not only make you at peace with it, it will also get you the moral and emotional support you require from others, banishing your humiliation.

Take Pride:
Take pride in the extra ordinary courage you have shown by surviving and working towards a better you. Don’t let others make you feel ashamed, instead straighten up and say “I am proud of myself”. The rush of this sentence will act as an antidote for your psychological crippleness.
