How to incorporate power yoga in fitness routine?

When it comes to yoga, power yoga is the new buzzword. Even the celebs like Kareena Kapoor who have attained size zero swear by power yoga. It’s the intensive form of power yoga that has become the most sought after fitness routine among the fitness freaks. One cannot deny the fact that; yoga is for mind, body and soul. Yoga teaches one to relax and control breathing, stretching and energizing the mind and body simultaneously.

It makes one feel good and organizes one for the entire day, which no other fitness can give. By adding some power to the yoga asanas, one can get “power yoga”. It works more effectively, to handle stressed mind, weary body, heavy body and other love handles. Power yoga improves physical strength and stamina, and improves flexibility to the core. It is unlike the conventional form of yoga.

In this, one not only does series of asanas, but also does cardio too. By doing this, one sweat while doing the exercises and the toxins are released out. Power yoga is the term, which is used when yoga is combined with strength and it becomes a demanding form of exercise. One can do power yoga with any form of conventional yoga. By combining power yoga with any cardio workout, like cardio or gym, one can burn the fat and calories at a faster rate. The muscles gets strengthened, it improves stretch and flexibility and improves the overall balance.

By practicing it regularly, one can over come stress, recover from injuries of joint, and relaxes the mind thus adding more focus in life. It adds vitality and vigor to life thus; one can challenge and push oneself more, than regular people. Working 3-4 days a week is good.

Some of the benefits of practicing power yoga are, it helps in healing ulcers of stomach, asthma, acidity, constipation, bronchitis, obesity, menstrual disorders, sinusitis, anxiety, blood pressures, insomnia etc. Power yoga can be done with any school of yoga, but make use of principles of “Ashtanga yoga”. “Ashtanga yoga” focuses on eight limbs of yoga; the basic ones are pranayam and asana. It’s better to do this kind of yoga in the morning, as it keeps the mind and body fresh throughout the day.

The best thing is, people of any age group can do this power yoga and can benefit from it. Lot of inches and flab’s can be reduced by it. Generally a 45min-60 min session, 3-4 times a week is good to remain fit. So, if you want the double benefit of power and exercise then opt for power yoga.
