Make sure you have recovered properly:
On an average, it takes the body around six months to come back to its normal state (By “normal state” I refer to the internal functioning of the body). So, don’t be in a hurry to cut calories and make sure you give your body some time to recover. Remember, now you have a baby to take care of. This will require for you to give late night feeds and go through a lot of restless days. This will most definitely consume all your energy. So, in the initial three months, rather than focusing very strictly on your weight loss, it’s better for you to focus on a good diet which gives enough energy to help you cope with the responsibilities of a new baby.
Breast Feeding:
It’s a fact that breast feeding helps loose weight. Generally, a new mother who breastfeeds her child produces an average of 840ml of breast milk each day. To produce this amount of breast milk, the mother needs to burn approximately 500 calories per day . Hence, breast feeding your child is a good idea.
Exercise:
After three to four months, the mother’s body gets back to normal and she can start exercising now. At this point she can begin vigorous exercises and weight training. Consider joining a gym as proper equipment and trainers can help you achieve your target in a better manner. But it’s very important to bear in mind that the weight loss should be slow. Loosing too much weight too fast can cause serious complications.
Drink at least 10-12 glasses of water every day:
Replace beverages such as sodas and juices with water and fresh lemon drink. You could also try flavored water which has no calories. You can cut out hundreds of calories a day this way.
Remember, it took you nine months to gain the weight. It’s not going to come off overnight. Just give it some time!
