How To Prevent Osteoporosis With The Right Diet?

Osteoporosis is an ailment that is related to the bone. In this ailment happens due to fewer intakes of calcium and the bones become more prone to fracture as they happen to be extremely brittle. Other genetic factors also attribute to this disease.

Calcium is an important constituent of our body. Growing Children need them more. They are into the constant process of growth and development. One should be well educated about the right food intake. One should know what contents is needed for their body and in appropriate quantities. Some of the excellent sources of calcium are, tofu, cheese, egg yolks, soups, fish, nuts, yoghurt, cereals, oatmeal’s, milk, beans, macaroni etc. in order to control the development of osteoporosis one should follow the following tips.

There should be a proper balance of acidic content in the body. It’s good to consume fruits and vegetables in higher quantities as its help in increase of bone mineral density. The deficiency of vitamin D could be made good by sunbathing in the sun, or else one can take simple walk in the sun to get good quantity of vitamin D. This vitamin D is important as it supports in absorption of calcium and phosphorous in the body. Sunscreen should not be applied by the people who have this condition as it hinders the absorption of sunlight into the skin.

Green leafy vegetables should be consumed in large quantities. These green leafs are rich source of calcium, minerals and other vitamins. Spinach, kale, radish leaves, fenugreek leaves, turnip greens etc are considered best source of calcium. One should also consume soups, stocks and stews in large quantities to keep this ailment at bay.  Bones of animals and seafood shells are rich source of calcium.

Avoid dieting as it reduces the bone mineral density of the body. Weight management should be done by proper exercising, by doing this the bone will become healthy and strong. Large quantities of dairy products and food that has good level of proteins should be consumed. Simple weight bearing exercises is good for the bones. Older patients can do simple exercises to keep the disease at bay. Thus by simple alteration in food and lifestyle one can make up the bone loss and can prevent the development of osteoporosis.
