How to Tone the Breasts After Breastfeeding

Once the phase of breast feeding is over you find your breasts have lost the firmness. This off course is not seen in all women and depends on the skin and its elasticity. Hence, every woman is different, some sag and others don’t, just like some get stretch marks and some don’t.

Breasts are made of fat and tissues. It has no muscles or ligaments to support it. During breast feeding the breasts get full with milk, stretching the skin. The baby also pulls it down while sucking. If the skin has less elasticity then it is not able to cope up and sags. Generally the effects are seen after the birth of the second child.

By improving the pectoral muscles, which are just below the breasts, one can tone up the breasts. Once these muscles get firm they uplift the breasts. Exercise is the safest and natural way of toning your upper part. Remember, right exercise is the key to getting desirable results. However, make sure you take the guidance of a personal trainer. Massaging the breast also helps but you need a professional help.

Massaging with some breast serum and lotions can also help in toning and lifting your breasts. These products have plant estrogens which give firmness to the breasts. Improving your posture also helps. Another thing you can do is to go for plastic surgery. Mastopexy is an operation done to lift the breasts.

It is better to start taking care of your breasts even when you are still feeding. Wear bras with good support. Try to cradle your baby higher in your arms during breast feeding and massage your breasts twice a day. This will keep the elasticity of your skin and help accommodate the contraction and expansion of the breast due to milk.

Last thing that I would like to add is- the breasts do not remain the same whether you breast feed or not and the advantage of feeding are higher than the price paid. Hence, do not hesitate to breast feed your child.
