Importance of Colon Health

If you want a healthy life and maintain your targeted weight, then you need to have a healthy colon. You will be amazed to know that such a small part can have so much effect on the functioning of the body.

We all know that the function of colon is to transport the weight of the body out of it. Colon is compared to a sewage system and you cannot stay for very long in a house with bad sewage system. Now imagine if your colon becomes slow and sluggish and is not able to take out the waste, then what happens?

The waste is in our body getting bad and making our body toxic and if we allow our colon to remain like that for sometime, our other organs start operating less efficiently, leading to variety of diseases and disorders. Due to poor digestion our body is not able to absorb the nutrients, making us less energetic, lowering the metabolism leading to obesity.

The main reason of bad colon is eating less fiber. Because to move, the waste needs something to grip on and this is only possible if there is fiber in our diet. Drinking less water, work pressure and sitting all day aggravates the problem. Biting more than you can chew both in life or on diner table makes your prime candidate of colon problems.

You can correct decades of colon abuse by improving your diet. Eat less processed food, add fresh fruit as much as you can in your diet, don’t indulge in compensatory eating, eat only when you are hungry not when you are stressed out.

One thing which will help you is whenever you plan to eat something ask your self why do I want to eat it if it is any thing except hunger, and then don’t eat it. Start exercising as moving your body helps colon work more efficiently.
