Importance of Static Stretching and Flexibility Program
Stretching exercises should be made fundamental part of any kind of training program. All this has to be done and performed constantly as stretching exercises can do more and can help to the body in the following ways.
It helps in increasing the range of motion in the joint. The chances of muscle tear and sprain also gets greatly reduced during any kind of activity. By doing the stretches the muscle rigidity and stiffness gets relived. The postural imbalance gets corrected and improved; the best part is that it helps in alleviating the back pain.
With the increase in the circulation of blood, the localization flow of the blood improves with the muscle condition. In case of any soreness that had happened while doing any physical activity also gets improved.
Most of us wrongly take this stretch program as secondary exercise program to the strength and the endurance training. The flexibility training program in hence mostly overlooked and neglected by most of us. But stretching is important to prevent any kind of injury in the long run.
One can easily incorporate stretching exercises in a cool down session in any training session. The range of motion is steadily increased with gradual warming of the body. While doing any kind of stretching exercises one has to keep certain points in the mind. One should take care enough that static stretching should not be performed immediately after the dynamic stretching.
One should do stretches when the body has warmed up. Hence it can be done at the end of the session or after 10 minutes of light aerobic exercises. Try to complete all the range of stretches that works on all the muscle groups. You can pay particular attention to one particular muscle group that you make use of it the most.
You should hold each stretch for 10-20 seconds. Release the tightness gradually as you stretch. Try to perform each stretch in 2-3 times in succession. The ideal way is to perform it 5 times in a week. Avoid bouncing. Breathe out while you stretch. In case of any pain release the stretch immediately.
