What is Influenza A H1N1?

Influenza A H1N1 is a communicable and contagious respiratory disease. The disease is caused by pigs by type A strains if influenza virus-H1N1 virus. It is being universally known as “Swine Flu” all over the world. The outbreak happened in the march/April 2009, in Mexico where a new strain of influenza A H1N1 came into existence and started taking toll on human life. According to The world health organization this strain of influenza virus can easily spread from one person to the other.

How does H1N1 spread?

The influenza A H1N1 virus spreads in the similar manner like the seasonal flu. In this condition the tiny droplets that get expelled from the mouth and nose of an infected person when they sneeze, cough or talk. It’s easier for people to get transmitted and infected by these droplets are they are suspended in the air. Simply by touching the infected person or the touching the surface that is contaminated with the virus, they can get infected too.

Well the answer is yes. While in general it has been observed that, this kind of influenza A H1N1 virus usually affects the pigs; there is a rise in the number of cases of humans being infected by this deadly virus in past few months. The first case was noted in Mexico, hundreds of people all over the globe have been affected by this kind of virus. Under extremities the infected person may die as the virus is believed to be resistant to most of the antibiotics.

The governments of most of the nations find it to be an attack in the form of Bio-terrorism. Whatever may be the reason in case of outbreak of this swine flu the WHO issues specific infection control advice. It is mandatory that you follow the health authorities recommendations and advice.
