Insect Bites And Their Remedies

The treatment of insect bite depends on the insect and on individual reaction. The poison of some insects may cause itching for a day or two but some insect bites could stimulate severe allergic response or may lead to some serious problems.

Spider bite:
All spiders are poisonous but black widow and round recluse spider have the strength to injure a human being. There bites can be fatal. It is difficult for an untrained eye to differentiate between spiders, so try to attend to it immediately rather than waiting for the symptoms to show. Such bites are particularly dangerous to children of age five and under.

Keep the bite site lower than the heart and apply cold compress. You can also put a paste of baking soda on the site. Try to get medical help as soon as possible If the bite is swollen, red, painful, the person is nauseated, sweating, feeling muscle cramps, joint pains and difficulty in breathing.

Bees, wasps and ants:
People who are highly sensitive to the venom are affected by the bite; otherwise one sting does not make much of a difference. However, multiple stings can be harmful. Don’t waste any time and get medical help immediately.

A person who is allergic to insect bites should always wear identification tag and carry a kit with anti thistamine pills, a syringe loaded with Epinephrine and instructions.

These stings can be very painful, especially honey bees leave the entire sting apparatus in the wound and the poison gland continues to release poison after the bee has departed. Don’t try to pull out the sting, instead scrape it out.

Mosquito bites should be washed with soap and cold water. You may be infected by bacterial and viral disease. So if you are planning to travel get yourself immunized for these.
