Is Your Fertility Affected By Your Lifestyle?
The lifestyle of modern times is pushing men and women towards infertility. Though we thought that the reasons of childlessness are beyond our control but there are certain factors which can be influenced to increase our fertility. Here are some lifestyle changes which will help you to increase your chances of getting pregnant. Remember, you have to act now because, mind you, the damage done is done for ever. Moreover, you will be amazed to know that our body reaches its fertility only when the condition seems right for raising babies. In case of any negative signs like, malnourishment, illness, mental stress our body puts paternity on hold.
Certain foods can increase your level of fertility. Bad dietary habits can act just the opposite. Take a nutritious diet, full of proteins, fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Also, maintain a healthy weight. Women who are over or under weight are at risk for fertility failure. Moreover, taking too much of alcohol can bring the count of sperm down in the men. Drinking just five or fewer drinks can create fertility problems and the problem aggravates as you age.
Another thing which affects fertility is smoking. It causes changes in hormones that lead to menstrual irregularity. It can also damage the egg. An average smoker showed a 75% decline in fertilizing capacity when compared to non smokers and if combined with alcohol and caffeine significant drops in fertility are seen.
If you spend long hours sitting whether in front of a computer or behind the steering wheel, the temperature of your scrotum and tests may rise and this heat can decrease the sperm production. Long soaks in hot bath should also be avoided. Don’t be planted on your backside the whole day. Try to exercise regularly, moderate exercise can burn excess fat and increase blood circulation boosting fertility, but remember over doing it can also be harmful. Exercising too hard for too long can also throw your hormones off balance and can lower the sperm count. Low impact exercises are ideal. If you do high impact aerobic activities take proper precautions.
