Is Your Partner Your One and Only True Love
After you have had several dates with your new love interest, you begin to feel that you are moving in the right direction. Your partner cares for you, is kind, patient and everything you ever wanted in your potential partner. You feel that your dream of having a ‘happily ever after’ may finally come true. There is however, one catch. You are not sure of your own feelings about him. You just cannot put your finger on it. You can’t decide if what you are experiencing is true love or just infatuation.
Before taking the next big step towards a lifelong commitment, it is important to ascertain whether you are blinded by temporary infatuation or if you really love this person and are ready to make a lifelong commitment. Ask yourself a few questions, and find out.
If you feel that you could spend hours and hours only looking at the person and talking to them without any other considerations, then you are well on your road to happiness. However, if other material considerations like looks or money are what really turn you on and you don’t really enjoy spending time with them, then you are in for trouble.
Evaluate your interest in your paramour. Are you interested in them because they flatter you and give you compliments or is it because what they say is really meaningful and interesting? Also consider whether they follow their words with actions or if they only talk big and don’t act on it.
Ask yourself whether some years down the line, you will be willing to do everything to make the relationship work or if other things are more important for you. Also evaluate whether your partner would be willing to do the same for you.
If you are attracted to your partner but are not willing to compromise, expecting them to change themselves to suit you, you still have to go a long way. Loving someone means making a lot of compromises and working hard on meeting the other person at least halfway through troubles, crises, disappointments etc.
If a situation arises where you have to sacrifice a lot for the person you love, would you hesitate to make that sacrifice for them? If your answer is no, then you really care for the person and want what is best for them. Being in love means making the other person more important than yourself and if you can do that without a second thought, you should congratulate yourself for finding true love.
