Laughter for Good Health
Recent studies show a lot of benefits of laughter. Good laugh has a very positive effect on the emotional and physical effect of a person. In fact it is being used as a therapy in many medical conditions.
Laughter gives a lot of exercise to our body making us lose weight. Belly laugh is like internal jogging. It gives a workout to internal organs like your diaphragm, abdominal respiratory, facial and back muscles. It also makes us feel good about ourselves and less indulgent in comfort eating. So even if you are not getting ahead of laughing at your bosses jokes you are definitely getting healthier.
A good laugh works as an emotional cleanser. You release health enhancing hormones like endorphins and neurotransmitter, which lower the stress level. It also strengthens our immune system and helps us recover from any illness as it increases the will to fight against any illness.
Laughter also protects our heart. Negative emotions like distress and depression contribute in triggering the heart problem. A research found that people who laugh less are more prone to heart problems because laughter relaxes our muscles and protects the barrier lining our blood vessels.
People come closer when they laugh together. There is a saying that couples who laugh together stay together. Even in the most difficult times a laugh works like a magic portion and binds the family together. Humor shifts the ways in which we think. It makes a problem less over whelming.
Even after having so many benefits and that also for free we don’t hear much laughter around us. We need to focus more on how to bring humor in our lives. Try to be more in the company of people who naturally take life lightly. If you don’t feel it, fake it for a while. You will get the same results.
