Magnetic Healing
Magnet had been used for healing since ancient times. Its roots could be traced back in the civilizations of the Romans and the Greek. In magnetic therapy the electrons of the magnet work, these electrons are aligned in one direction. Theoretically, if all the substance has magnetic properties and if they have ample amount of electrons that are aligned then can be used as magnet. Iron can be easily magnetized because it has abundant electrons.
Each magnet consists of two poles, the north and the south. The poles are also known as positive and negative. It has been found that the positive side of any magnet is not useful in healing. The reasons are still unknown. The negative side is basically helpful in treating numerous conditions. Serenity and restfulness is another name of North Pole while growth and healing powers is associated with the South Pole and is considered therapeutic.
The strength of each magnet is on account of its magnetic field. Its strength is measured in gauss strength. The gauss strength of a magnet determines how effective it is in healing and curing process. The strength of each magnet varies. Hence one can say that all the magnets are not effective in alleviating pain and giving relief. For good therapeutic treatment the magnet should have gauss strength of 200-10,000. The size of a magnet also determines its strength.
With the increase in distance the field strength of a magnet also decreases. One can easily understand that when magnets are placed close to the affected area of pain, they are relatively more effective. Magnets are basically of two types, Permanent and pulsating. Both these magnets show varied outline.
Permanent magnets as the name suggests produce even and steady magnetic field. They are therefore efficient defying pain. In a pulsating magnet the magnetic field is not steady and unpredictable. Such magnets are basically used shoot growth and increase the healing.
Hence we see that magnets are good for therapy. The effectiveness also depends a lot due to their properties, size and intensity.
