Maintaining Personal Hygiene
Maintaining good personal hygiene enhances the body, mind and personality. If you are clean from outside it will help to be clean from inside too. Personal hygiene includes taking care of all the parts of your body and mind from the hair, face, mouth, skin, feet, internal body hygiene and lifestyle habits affecting the mind (such as lack of sleep, over sleep, excessive caffeine, nicotine and alcohol consumption, etc.)
Taking into consideration every part of the body; you can begin with your hair. Regular washing, oiling, brushing and massaging of hair will help prevent split ends, dandruff, hair fall, dry scalp and will give you hair a lustrous sheen of healthiness.
Oral hygiene is also important. Brushing twice a day and flossing regularly will help prevent tooth decay, cavities and other dental problems which occur due to negligence.
Body care and skin care is essential and requires daily attention. Taking regular baths cleanses the skin removing external dirt particles (from pollution and humidity). Choosing comfortable material for clothing (to help the skin breathe) and wearing clean clothes will also help in preventing body odor and skin disorders. Washing hands regularly before cooking and eating will wash away germs that you may have caught from different places.
Bad odor from feet is a common problem, especially for people who perspire a lot. A few ways to combat this issue is by regularly changing socks, footwear, washing on daily basis and being careful about diet.
Internal body hygiene is as critical as external body care. Genitals especially should be kept clean as they are prone to bacterial infections. Washing with water is best and natural way to keep it clean. Internal use of certain products may interfere with the natural chemical composition which could make it more susceptible to infections. Apart from genitals, maintaining a good diet and drinking plenty of water helps in maintaining an overall healthy body.
In addition to physical care, having a healthy lifestyle also helps you attain the discipline that leads to better hygiene. Excessive consumption of caffeine, alcohol and nicotine has disastrous effects on the body internally and externally. Moreover, an unhealthy lifestyle also leads to irregular sleeping patterns, lack of sleep or over sleeping. It is important to maintain sleeping patterns, as it is the only time your body and time has time to rejuvenate.
Personal hygiene is critical because it prevents external organisms and bacteria to infect our body system. It not only helps in feeling good from the inside but also helps in creating self esteem, confidence and good personality.
