Make Up Trends This Winter

The trend this winter is “sexy and sophisticated”. Just as the winter colors are intense and high contrast so is the winter color pallet.

Foundation is the base of your make up; choose the tone which matches your skin. If the color of your skin changes after applying the foundation then try another tone. It should be like your second skin and help your face look fresh and natural. Don’t forget to add some sunscreen in your foundation. Also, use mineral powder to give that polish look to the complexion and use luminiser under and over foundation to have a flushed look.

Winter is the best time to experiment with dramatic eyes. Smoky eyes are IN this season. You can apply an eye liner and then smudge it for a smoky effect. Use two quotes for the mascara on your eye lashes for that added volume. Thin eye brows are out so don’t over pluck them. Get them professionally shaped and use a brow pencil to fill in any gaps for that fuller look. Wear eye shadow to bring depth and dimension to your eyes.

Don’t forget blusher to bring that glow to your cheeks. Apply it just a little offside of the apples of the cheek for greater contouring. Most important thing in applying makeup in general is blending it well.

Make sure you don’t ignore your lips. They dry very easily as they don’t have any oil glands. Invest in a good lip balm with vitamin- E. Use cream lipsticks instead of matt in winter with dark seductive colors.

Pay a lot of attention to your nails this winter. Massage them with nail oils twice a week to make them strong. Berries, egg plants and blue hues are IN this season. But if you want that clean and classy look go for a French manicure. Keep a moisturizer in your bag to top up whenever your hands feel dry.

Whatever we put on our skin 64%  of it gets absorbed so be very careful while choosing your brand. Too many chemicals can dry and age the skin. I’m not being a snob but some of the brands that costs a bit more are just better. Another thing which you should keep in mind while choosing color is — some of us look best in warm colors and some of us in cool. Make sure you know your color.
